Antepartum Doula

I am a Certified Health Coach, Ayurvedic Chef + Doula specializing in postpartum care and Ayurvedic wellness. My philosophy is that a healthy foundation is a catalyst for a healthier future. After struggling with hormonal issues and anxiety, I was determined to find balance and heal. I adopted a regular Ayurvedic practice incorporating, daily meditation, breathwork, yoga and healthy eating into my life which had such a transformative effect that it moved her to study under some of the most influential Ayurvedic teachers in the US and India, including Vasant Lad founder and director of the Ayurvedic Institute, the National Ayurvedic Medical Association's Hilary Garivaltis, The Institute of Culinary Education’s Richard Lamarita, and Vaidya Dr. A.V. 'Krishna' Raju. I completed my DONA Postpartum and Birth Doula training with the renowned Debra Pascali-Bonaro, followed by an internship at, Healthy Mother & Natural Birth Sanctum in Hyderabad, India- an affiliate clinic of the International MotherBaby Childbirth Organization. There I provided gentle birth and postpartum support to women under the guidance of Dr. Vijaya Krishnan and some of the leading midwives in the country. My experience at the clinic was so heartfelt and life-changing that it motivated and inspired me to work towards improving maternal and infant health and create a ripple effect of positive change for a brighter future.

Postpartum Doula

Postpartum Chef

Lactation Counselor (CLC)

I am a certified Carriage House/Birdsong postpartum doula and a certified breastfeeding consultant. In Chinese medicine, the future health of women and birthing people is linked to the kind of recovery they have after pregnancy and birth. Nourishment, rest and support facilitate a thorough revival. I believe the future of your relationship and your family are also impacted by this recovery period. As a postpartum doula I help every member of the family heal, acclimate and adjust. It is important that everyone in your family unit understands how to help, how to be included, how to stay connected. Oxytocin floods the body after delivery. It truly is a love hormone which can guide a birthing person with superhero maternal instincts. Many partners and siblings feel confused, sometimes even useless. I share evidence based techniques and information to help you all support each other. This way no one gets left behind and you build a strong base for your new family. Plus I bring sourdough bread because I love baking sourdough bread and find it to be a little bit of a metaphor for living. We need the village. We need generational guidance. We need support. We live in a culture that praises mothers and parents who power through and manage unassisted. Postpartum is a precious and exhuasting time, full of challenges that are hard to anticipate even if you are having a second or a third child. I tidy, I cook, I minister to the birthing person’s physical healing preparing herbal soaks and teas and specifically nourishing and healing foods, I share newborn soothing, feeding, sleeping and care techniques, I let you rest and find your way together. I mother you just in case your mother comes with extra baggage or she isn’t here.

Felicia Sokol

Birth Doula

my deep call to birth work started with knowing that our bodies, as women and birthing folk, are innately knowledgeable and intuitive. an empowered birth experience brings us back to this. i am in service to women (and their partners), so that they may experience their birth feeling safe, supported, and empowered, no matter what their preferences are. i am here to support whether that’s in a hospital with an epidural or at home with a midwife. every birthing woman comes from an epic lineage of birthing women. i honor this transformational transition in a women’s life with deep reverence and i adapt to meet her (and her partner’s) needs. as a shamanic reiki practitioner, i am sensitive to the nuances of such an intimate environment and i believe that holding space is a gentle act. i bring such qualities, along with humor, education, and broadmindedness to all my clients. every birth is different and every birthing person has different preferences. it's all about informed decision making: education + intuition. currently, i am near finishing my DONA Certification. i am a Birth Worker supporting Hypnobirthing and embarking on a Spinning Babies intensive.

Cara Saunders

Postpartum Doula

Lactation Counselor (CLC)

Antepartum Doula

I aim to support families in whatever their postpartum experience brings. This can include everything from baby care while you rest or shower, to preparing meals for your family, to taking out the trash (hey, someone's gotta do it!) As a certified lactation counselor, I love providing help and encouragement with breastfeeding, but I am equally happy to assist families who are formula feeding in the logistics of their journey. Everything I do, I aim to do with non-judgement, a helping hand, and a little laughter along the way! I love postpartum work because it allows me to witness and support the beauty that is a new family... in all it's chaotic, messy, love-filled glory. I enjoy providing hands on, everyday support for families along with emotional reinforcement. There are endless articles, opinions, gadgets and gear out there in the baby world, it's easy to get lost. Sometimes all you need is the support of a community, your intuition to guide you, and of course lots of love from your postpartum doula :-)

Birth Doula

Newborn/Parenting Educator

Hello! My name is Renee Pizzuto and I am certified birth doula, breastfeeding consultant who works with families as a trusted guide through pregnancy, birth and the first year of parenthood. I love building bridges with expecting women and parents who want to be educated and prepared for this exciting new chapter in their lives. During my first pregnancy in 2007, I saw a need for maternal education and support. As a result, I chose to take my passion for coaching and development from the conference room into the birth room. Since attending my first birth in 2009 as a doula, I have guided hundreds of families to achieve a satisfying experience starting in pregnancy through the first year of life.

Michelle Goitia

Yoga Instructor

Support Group Facilitator

Birth Doula

Newborn/Parenting Educator

I support women through their pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum recovery by teaching prenatal and postpartum yoga, well care workshops, and by offering birth support. As a young girl growing up in NM I found that riding horses gave me a sense of calm that I later found on my yoga mat. I began practicing yoga in 2000, since my daughter was born in 1998, I had not yet discovered how yoga would enhance my pregnancy. With my son’s birth in 2003 I could tell the benefits of yoga as my pregnancy progressed. At this point I knew I wanted to share my experience with other women. This is why I’ve dedicated myself to teaching prenatal & postpartum yoga, lead well care workshops, & offer birth support. I love helping mothers connect with their babies through yoga and watching babies & children respond to its soothing calm and peacefulness. I’ve finally found my passion in assisting women through the full spectrum of well care from pregnancy to recovery in the postpartum period.
