Amber Star M.

Postpartum Doula Newborn/Parenting Educator Lactation Counselor (CLC)
Most of my life was spent in the performing arts, traveling the world with a dance company, and photographing my journeys. But having children shifted my perspective and revealed a new calling. I wanted to create the community and support that I myself longed for around as a new mother. Through my own story, and those of women around me, I came to understand the significance of what is probably the most profound, yet so often undervalued, life change a person can experience - the transition into motherhood, and parenthood. It’s the birth that comes after childbirth. Just like childbirth, the “4th trimester” is an intense, life altering, and vulnerable time when we are born as as mothers and fathers. We question everything as we find our new normal, learn and grow in unfathomable ways, and are catapulted into the unknown. It is a time when we need others to encourage us, advocate for us, lift us up, and celebrate with us. My passion and joy lies in providing a safe haven for families, giving them the compassion and unconditional support they deserve as they navigate all the newness. I am am grateful to have have been working intimately with families for almost a decade, and I look forward to working with many more.

Yoga Instructor Pregnancy Coach Postpartum Doula Newborn/Parenting Educator Health Coach Fitness Coach Childbirth Educator Birth Doula Birth Counselor
I am an active birth doula, childbirth educator, pre/postnatal yoga teacher and MUTU® Systems trainer. I have been assisting expecting families in the New York Metro area since 2003. What I have found from going to hundreds of births is that women are often under prepared for the 2nd Stage of Labor; The Pushing Part. Which may contribute to many hours of ineffective pushing, preventable tearing, medical interventions or sometimes a cesarean. I developed my Pushing Power classes to help inform and prepare for effective pushing and optimal recovery. I am passionate about helping moms prepare both body + mind for a positive birth experience and assist them to make a full recovery postpartum. I am a Certified Childbirth Educator (LAMAZE and Childbirth Education of Metropolitan New York, of which I am a current board member) and Doula. I am also Certified in both Pre/Postnatal Yoga and is a Certified MUTU® Systems Pro.

Postpartum Doula Antipartum Doula Lactation Counselor (CLC)
I aim to support families in whatever their postpartum experience brings. This can include everything from baby care while you rest or shower, to preparing meals for your family, to taking out the trash (hey, someone's gotta do it!) As a certified lactation counselor, I love providing help and encouragement with breastfeeding, but I am equally happy to assist families who are formula feeding in the logistics of their journey. Everything I do, I aim to do with non-judgement, a helping hand, and a little laughter along the way! I love postpartum work because it allows me to witness and support the beauty that is a new family... in all it's chaotic, messy, love-filled glory. I enjoy providing hands on, everyday support for families along with emotional reinforcement. There are endless articles, opinions, gadgets and gear out there in the baby world, it's easy to get lost. Sometimes all you need is the support of a community, your intuition to guide you, and of course lots of love from your postpartum doula :-)

Lindsay S.

Nutritionist Postpartum Doula Postpartum Chef Lactation Counselor (CLC)
As a Postpartum Doula, Chef, and Mom to two daughters, nourishing families is what I’m most passionate about. I serve new parents as a sounding board and additional set of hands while navigating the weeks after birth. I believe that culinary support is an integral part of postpartum healing, providing physical energy in addition to emotional comfort. As a Nutritionist (RDN) and Lactation Counselor (CLC), I support new parents through all stages of feeding their babies, from the first feed though first foods and beyond. My hope is to provide families with warm, evidence-based support so they can rest, restore, and focus on their new little person or persons.

Fertility Specialist Birth Doula Postpartum Doula Antipartum Doula
Feel free to call me your Fertility Coach, your Motherhood Counselor, your Life Doula, or simply, your Friend. Thirty-something wife and mom of a three-year-old and a set of almost two-year-old twins, (in)fertility warrior, community builder, supporter, friend, connector, counselor, advocate, doula, Licensed Master of Social Work based out of Manhattan. After embarking on my own path to becoming a mother, something in me shifted. My passions, my identity, my purpose all took on new meanings. I realized how lonely it can be for those without community, support, or someone in their corner to guide them. From that moment I realized I wanted to help women setting out in this chapter of their lives-- whether they are struggling with infertility (as I did), pregnancy challenges, miscarriage or infant loss, life as a new mom, or all the spaces in between. I am particularly passionate about normalizing infertility, postpartum challenges, pressures associated with social media, breastfeeding and everyday struggles balancing life with infants and toddlers. I aim to add humor and my own personal reality to these and other parenting topics with the hope that it makes women understand they are not alone. I am in the trenches with you and we’re all just doing our best. My best, your best, is good enough. After co-founding a business, Mom MeetUps, that provided New York City moms with social gatherings and online forums, I have now chosen to offer personalized, one-on-one support to individuals looking for a safe space, a sounding board, and a knowledgeable resource on the journey to and through motherhood. In summer 2019 I will also be leading monthly, in-person support groups for women who are in the midst of their fertility journey. I could not be more thrilled to finally launch this endeavor. It’s been a long time in the works. After taking many different paths to get here, yet always working in the “mom space” with any spare moment I had, this is the exact right moment in my life to make this happen. With inspiring women surrounding me, a deep network of fertility warriors, members of my mom tribe, and my truly supportive friends and family, It’s Conceivable, by Rebekah Rosler, is born.
