Shira is the founder of Shira Sussi Nutrition. She is passionate about supporting women on the benefits of healthy eating from preconception through early motherhood. She also works three days per week as an outpatient dietitian at NewYork-Presbyterian-Weill Cornell.
Shira's is known for her individualized, compassionate and collaborative approach. Through encouragement and education Shira works closely with each client to meet their nutritional goals.
Initial sessions are between 60-75 minutes and conducted virtually or in the comfort of a client's home. Follow up sessions are ~30 minutes ; virtual or in-home visits are also offered for these sessions. Shira provides a la carte nutrition counseling sessions, or offers three, six and eight session packages. All packages are prepaid, non-refundable and expire within 6 months of purchase. Full payment is due at each session, unless other arrangements are made. Packages are prepaid at the first session.
Shira has daytime and evening hours available and will accommodate your scheduling needs as best she can. Nutrition therapy is most beneficial and effective when it is consistent. Appointment times are reserved and dedicated exclusively for each patient. Missed appointments or appointments cancelled less than 24 hours are subject to the full cost of the session.
Shira holds a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics from New York University. She completed her training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in 2015 and has continued to work there in various clinical nutrition roles counseling adult, perinatal and pediatric populations ever since. She is currently a outpatient dietitian at NYP - Weill Cornell and primarily sees adults, high risk and general obstetric patients. Shira is also a nutrition expert at Cleo where she provides telecounseling to families supporting their nutritional needs from preconception through new parenthood. In her private practice, Shira Sussi Nutrition, Shira provides in-person and virtual support to clients in areas such as fertility and preconception, pre and postnatal health, introduction to solid foods and picky eating.
