May is Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month, and here at The Motherhood Center we are using this opportunity to raise awareness around the prevalence of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) RIGHT NOW more than ever.
Navigating the perinatal period in the time of Coronavirus is a herculean effort in itself - and as a result - women are experiencing much higher levels of anxiety, depression, OCD and other PMAD related symptoms. The good news is – mental health support and treatment is more accessible than ever before. Scroll down to see full agenda for May 6th, 2020.
Join us on May 6th, 2020 from 10AM EST – 1:30PM EST for a day full of conversation and education with leading experts in the field of maternal mental health, relationships, and PMAD survivors that will share their personal experiences. The following topics and many more will be addressed:
Whats “normal” for a new and expecting mom and could be a PMAD?
What treatment options and resources are available to help new and expecting mom’s that are struggling emotionally?
What can I expect during pregnancy, delivery, and the postpartum period in the time of Coronavirus?
What is Matrescence (the emotional and physical act of becoming a mother) and how has this changed in the time of Coronavirus?
What skills and techniques can I use to managing my anxiety and stress?
How do I successfully navigate my relationship with my partner in the perinatal period during a pandemic?
What have PMAD survivors done to help them to feel better?
The event will be broken up into three separate panels, one hour each. Questions will be answered from participants throughout the event. Stay tuned for a full agenda next week!
